Travels in Saguaro Country

Ah, to wear shorts and bask in the sunshine in winter!  I just returned from painting in saguaro cactus country, in the warm wilds of Arizona.  I traveled with the family, so I didn’t set a grueling painting schedule.  I did come home with a dozen studies, and I can’t wait to work on some studio pieces.  Here’s a handful of images from the trip:catalina-light.jpgpainting.JPGLike I said, the trip wasn’t all work!kids-running.jpglynelle.JPGSometimes you have to just sit back and soak it all in.saguaro-sunset.jpgI’ll post the studies soon.  Right now it’s time to clean the brushes and clean my studio!

Hi: Great to see the vast array of your landscapes. Especially appreciate the charcoal sketches. And how about an Arizona workshop next winter? Say, January through to March?Looking forward to seeing you at the Russell Auction!

Thanks Anita! I’d love to teach a workshop down in Arizona. We had a great time down there. Come by my room, (room 244) I’ll have a nice big painting of the Arizona desert!
